Christian Dating Advice For Us All

Think You Can Plan A Day Trip?

So you and your boyfriend or girlfriend have been dating for awhile and have somewhat hit cruise control in your relationship. You have been furiously thinking of ideas to “spice up your relationship” but haven’t come up with anything new or exciting. If you are in this stage of your relationship (even if you’re not this is a great idea) take a day when the two of you don’t have school or anything else going on and go on a day trip.

Take a wild guess at how long a day trip is - you got it - one day. That means you have the entire day to get some quality (and quantity) time in. Deciding where to go on a day trip is a huge part of this planning process.

If you live in a rural area, take a trip to the city for a day. Cities have a ton of things to look at and chances are you may be overwhelmed at all the options. If you’re only use to looking at rows of corn, skyscrapers would definitely be a nice change of pace for the two of you!

If you live in the city, take a trip to the rural areas outside town to slow down from the city life. Feel free to take a picnic and enjoy God’s Creation for a day! You could even hit up a local park and just walk around for hours genuinely talking.

If you still aren’t exactly sure what I’m hinting at, here’s a typical day trip that you could take. For this day trip, I’ll focus on what you can do in the city of Pittsburgh (just because I know it the best):

  • 9:00 am - Start off by meeting together for a breakfast at your local Dunkin Donuts or any other place you love to have breakfast.
  • 10:00 am - Go to the Toys “R” Us store and just browse around. Why? Because it’s a blast!
  • 12:00 pm - Go to a local park and have a picnic. Now the key to this one is packing a picnic before you start the day! After you eat, throw around a frisbee or any other sport you like to play together.
  • 3:00 pm - Go to a movie together. The key to this one is that you check to see what movies are playing in your local area!
  • 5:30 pm - Go to a nice restaurant that the two of you love. Order your favorite meal and be sure to take your time and enjoy each other’s company!
  • 7:30 pm - One of the cool things about Pittsburgh is that they have inclines. Go here and watch the sunset God created!
  • 9:00 pm - Head back home.

And that’s it! Obviously that is a very vague schedule that you can use so be creative! You can go on day trips to amusement parks or even to the theater district in your town. Just do what the two of you love!

Great idea! Seems like everyone is so busy it’s hard to plan to spend an entire day with another person. Nice blog!

    Thanks for the comment Jan!
Definitely true - it’s tough planning something like this but it’s so valuable!
